Steve was born and raised in Northern Maine. After earning his bachelor’s degree at the University of Maine in Orono. Steve attended the University of Maine School of law in Portland where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree in 1977. Steve worked for the York County District Attorney’s Office during law school and upon graduation started practicing in Kennebunk.

Now in his fifth decade of practicing law, he has many loyal, long-term clients (some now third generation) earned through a pragmatic, problem solving approach to legal issues. His practice includes commercial and residential real estate transactions (and related litigation), business law (entity formation and transactional matters), estate planning, and trust / estate administration.

Steve and his wife, Lisa, live in a home they recently built in Arundel after living for 40+ years in Kennebunk. Steve is an avid golfer having been a member of Webhannet Golf Club for over 40 years, and also, more recently, Biddeford-Saco Country Club.

Matt has been practicing law in Kennebunk with Steve Hodsdon at the same firm since 2009. A general practitioner with a focus on real estate, his practice includes residential and commercial real estate transactions, municipal law, business law, estate planning, and general civil litigation. He has extensive experience in researching (and solving) real estate title problems and is a title agent for Chicago Title Insurance Company, First American Title Insurance Company and Connecticut Attorneys Title Insurance Company. 

 

He has represented buyers, sellers and banks in hundreds of residential and commercial real estate transactions, appeared before municipal boards across York County, serves as legal counsel for several local condominium and homeowner associations, and has litigated cases throughout the state. His experience with both the litigation and transactional side of the law gives him a diversity of knowledge that allows him to focus on problem solving in contested matters and problem avoidance when drafting documents. 

 

Matt grew up in Kennebunk and lives in town with his wife and two kids.  His interests include skiing and golfing and generally spending time outdoors with his family. He enjoys working with local businesses and residents, and being part of the community where he lives. He is also happy to work with newcomers to the area and welcome them to the place he has always called home.

Jason Caron is a highly experienced attorney with a multi-disciplinary practice that includes litigation, real estate, and general corporate representation. He has over 25 years of litigation experience, representing a wide range of diverse clients, from high profile multi-national companies to “mom and pop” businesses and individuals.  Jason specializes in complex products liability, premises liability and real estate litigation, with representative clients including Sears Roebuck and Co., Genuine Parts Company, NAPA, Advance Auto Parts, and CBC/Westinghouse. He has appeared in hundreds of court proceedings, including trials, arbitrations, mediations, hearings and depositions, and has argued appeals in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and before the Maine Supreme Court.

Additionally, Jason has an extensive background in transactional real estate and corporate law, with particular expertise in commercial real estate leasing.  He has negotiated and drafted hundreds of leases for all types of properties, including construction ground leases, shopping centers, restaurants, schools,  industrial properties, biotech and medical facilities. Jason has provided general corporate representation to numerous businesses over the years, handling corporate formations, successions, contracts, employment disputes, bankruptcy claims, insurance claims, and IP registrations and infringement actions, among other matters.

Before joining the firm, Jason was a Senior Partner in the Boston office of Luks Santaniello, a large defense litigation firm. Prior to that, he was a Managing Partner at Pond North LLP, a national products liability litigation firm, and Senior Litigation Counsel at Cummings Properties, LLC, a commercial real estate development firm in Woburn, Massachusetts.  Earlier in his career, he was an Associate at Preti Flaherty in Portland, and at Goulston & Storrs in Boston.

Jason graduated from Bowdoin College in 1994 and received his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1997. He is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Maine.

Jason lives in Kennebunk with wife, Jessica, his two teenagers, Nick and Abbie, and their 2-year old maltipoo, Violet. He is a “recovering” rugby player who enjoys travel, live music and theater, home improvement projects, and various outdoor fitness activities. In their spare time, Jason and his wife Jess are avid real estate investors who have bought, sold and renovated many properties over the years.
